If you were but a dream

I’d rather stay asleep forever

Instead of searching for your voice

whenever anyone talks to me

I’ll ache for your arms

that will never engulf my body

I’ll cry for the feel of your skin

that I dare not touch when I’m awake

I’ll crave for your love

that you’ll never give

I don’t want to wake up

facing the reality

that you won’t love me back

Not in this life, not ever.

If you were but a dream

A dream you shall stay

and a dreamer I would be

Loving you for eternity
